"That'll Do Donkey"

While we were in hospital delivering R, the infamous Uncle B stayed with W. What a godsend! Not once did I worry about W. I wholeheartedly knew he was more than okay being at home with his Uncle.
However, during this time they fostered a love for Shrek. Apparently, W started hugging the TV anytime the Shrek & Ford commercials came on TV. Now, let me explain that those commercials are the only time W has seen Shrek. Until now the movie hadn't graced our household. I guess Uncle B felt sorry for our little man who was only able to see his new found friend in the odd commercial because he then delivered both DVDs for W. Who LOVES them! He's infatuated. And let me just add that it's helped me immensely in these new days of having two boys to care for. W asks for Shrek as soon as he gets out of bed (sorry Elmo....Shrek is #1 these days) and would watch Shrek 2 all day long if he was able.
Thanks Uncle B! You've saved us all. Shrek is my new found friend too.

PS: Come home soon....the boys are asking for you. All three of them!

Picture This...

Descending the stairs to the main floor, I find W sitting on the island with B washing his face.
B: We had a little incident
M: What did he get into? Fruit?
B: No worse....your lipstick. He was sitting so quietly on the couch watching TV while I cooked his egg for breakfast. Then when I checked again he had your lipstick.
M: lol
B: How much did it cost?
M: MAC...about $15...but the pyjamas are $20.
W: whine, wiggle, whine..aka..quit washing my face and let me go!
Our life is now a zoo....might as well visit one too!
Park'n'Ride...first family of four trip to the park.
R's second bath at home. Thanks Dad!

Time Out - Knitting

On R's third day here, this lovely gal from knitting class stopped by with a handknit kimono sweater and matching hat for our little fella. How thoughtful!

My poor fellow knitting pal though....I answered the door in my pj's with uncombed hair. Yes, it was noon-ish, but in my defence it was my first day home from the hospital.

In other knitting news, I'm looking for a simple project again. Any suggestions?

Honeymoon Finale

It's over. The honeymoon has ended. This afternoon brought this fact screaming into reality for me as I crouched on the floor with tears threatening to spill as I held tight to a sobbing, angry, sad toddler who wanted to get away from me as he pinched both my arms and then signed and said "Hurt Momma", until he eventually vomitted due to his distress. All because he couldn't go outside.
A couple of hours alone with both my children and this is what takes place. What the hell am I going to do once B returns to work? This no lifting for 6 weeks is absolutely painful....mentally...to both W & me. I feel like I've lost him. In the past 10 days I have only put him down for a nap twice and (both times B had to go in and sing to him in order for him to settle) and got him up in the morning twice (to which W is asking for his Da). B is the bedtime guy, the fun play in the yard guy, the everything guy. And I am the sit and do very little gal. Not being able to carry and lift W is hurtful. Hurts my heart.
