Knitting Opinions Please

Okay, I have a dilemma. I'm feeling the need for some summer knitting. Fast knitting.

This yarn in Cafe Mocha, has been in my "Kraft Corner" for some time now and is begging to be knit up. Keep in mind end result will be variegated. My least favorite by the way. Why did I buy this yarn??? It's very....ummmm....my mother's knitting and that is not my style. Maybe I should knit something for her?

I'm at a loss.

So many options.

So indecisive.

I've narrowed it down to a sweater/coat for moi or a cabled blanket for our home. Or another sweater.

You pick.

Knit'n'Lit

"I like to knit a little lit." a quote from my knitting friend Miss J.

Last night I pulled out my much ignored knitting bag. It's been weeks since I've knit. Which was shockingly evident by the state of the two projects I had on the go. Had being the operative word. One was a celery green cabled shrug for myself and the other an incredibly sweet soft brown hat , with lace edging for a newly bald friend. Both are now unraveled and back into balls. Just wasn't feeling the knitting grove for these two items.

Maybe had I cracked open the beer I found within my knitting bag last night, my groove may have been on! Imagine! A beer in a knitting bag! It arrived there en route to the 20th High School Reunion. Did I knit a stitch that weekend? Nope. Did I drink that beer? Not last night, but it's calling to me now and so are those wooden knitting sticks.

A new project on the go. Another Shruggigan. This one is for me and in different shades of stone/taupe. We shall see what the future holds, but if I keep leaving the bag within Bup's reach so that he can steal a needle and walk around pretending he's an old man....well, it just doesn't bode well, now does it.

The Shrugigan - Knitting

It's completed!

And gifted! So I can finally blog about it with pictures. The recipient liked it too...how fabulous is that?! It's always nerve wracking creating and sharing with someone. Cause you just never know...however, my friend was grateful and pleased so I am too!

Yay!

I really liked this yarn and pattern and there just may be another one on the horizon for myself one day soon.

And gifted! So I can finally blog about it with pictures. The recipient liked it too...how fabulous is that?! It's always nerve wracking creating and sharing with someone. Cause you just never know...however, my friend was grateful and pleased so I am too!

I really liked this yarn and pattern and there just may be another one on the horizon for myself one day soon.

Dino-Knits

Currently I'm working on an Amy Swenson design, Urbanity. A versatile little vest. However, mine is fuchsia...Mai Tai to be exact. Now, what was I thinking?!?

Why would I not pick a nice earthy tone or black...something neutral?

Nope.

I go straight for over the top with Mai Tai. Typical me. Sometimes I scare me. Am I a little more like my mother than I realize? If you see me pairing the Mai Tai Urbanity Vest with matching, elastic waist, fortrel pants...well, lock me up and take away the knitting sticks!

This vest is taking me far too long. Partly because I'm not knitting everyday and partly because when I do attempt to get a row or two completed while the boys are awake, this is what happens....knitting with the dinosaurs. By the way, the brachiosaurous always wins over the T-Rex, even if T-Rex is a "meateater"....no match for the tail of a "long-neck"!

Finally the completed Modern Fashionista sweater. My first garment for myself. And it's actually wearable in public! And I've even had compliments on it! Wuhoo!

Tailored, soft, a little classy, dress up or down. Just like me!

This was knit with Patons Rumor, which is not discontinued...not sure why as it's a lovely alpaca blend.

Now, I've moved on to this little shrug and it was knit with Bernat Solo in Smoke. I'm almost done. Just the button and blocking to do. This project was quick and easy...not tangy. There may be another in my future.

However, there are two little boys who could use a new cardi....hmmm.....to knit for who?

Any suggestions in regards to a new kniting project? I'm about to complete my second felted bowl....just at the felting stage. The bowls are fun & easy, plus I really enjoy the whole felted look. (I'll post a photo later.)But now it's on to something new. But what?
