Christmas 2007

The holiday season already feels like months and months have passed since then. So much and yet so little has happened, which is just typical of life in general I think.
Christmas itself passed by and felt uneventful to me even though it was not. It was baby R's first Christmas. Of course, he slept through most of Christmas Day...a 4 hour morning nap! No wonder my brother thinks I live the "gravy life" and that I nap all day with the kids too. I wish!
R was just a fun little fella Christmas evening...playing in the tissue paper and loving the new books he received. Two days prior we stopped at friends on route to our hometowns, and Santa arrived there. R was the only child who happily sat on St. Nick's knee without shedding tears or simply snatching the candy cane & dashing away to play.
W enjoyed the holidays; spending time with family, making reindeer food on Christmas Eve, playing outside in the snow, and opening presents..."more presents? Cake?" Because where's there's presents, there must be cake!
We returned home on the 27th and enjoyed a few quiet days at home before B returned to work. During this time we did manage to attend the Festival of Lights and Zoo Lights. Both were fun, although the first event was during a freezing cold evening. W never complained once! He just wanted to see the camel and train over and over again. At the Zoo, R decided the stroller was equal to a torture chamber therefore required being carried all evening. Our arms were like rubber by the end of the night. Ah well....a good time was had by all. Throw a little GI flu for the adults into this, my mom getting out of the hospital on Christmas Eve and the usual family antics, and that was our Christmas in a very condensed "reader's digest" version.

  1. It's such a buildup to Christmas and then when it's over, it's so over!

Glad to hear you had a nice time. I think it just gets more fun with the kids.
