Shrek the Third

Have I told you how much W loves Shrek? Well, he certainly is smitten. Apparently while I was in hospital having R, W discovered Shrek thanks to the TV commercials. Uncle B witnessed him kissing and hugging the TV and felt sorry for the little guy so generously bought him the DVD set. It's been two and a half months of W watching Shrek, especially Shrek 2. Why not indulge his interests further? Today, W, R and I went to the theatre to partake in Shrek the Third. We went to a movie! And W was perfectly behaved! Thank goodness for wheelchair accessible theatres because I took the double stroller. W sat in the front seat with his little tray of popcorn and glass of juice, while I stood beside him and rocked R in the sling. (The moment we walked into the theatre R started to wail [the movie was too loud for him I think] so he was switched to the sling) This system worked wonders and once R was sound asleep I was able to sit beside W. He loved the movie....a regular Siskel & Eibert he is. Commenting on interesting events..."Meow" (puss in boots), "Gruk" (Shrek), "Oh no!", etc. Never fidgeted or tried to escape the confines of the stroller. Although he did scream rather loudly at a scene that was frightening, but a little hand holding with Momma and the scream ended abruptly, even before people revolted or tried to have us removed. I'm quite proud of my little fella. What a big day for Mr. Almost-Two. And who can beat $3 for an afternoon of entertainment?

  2. The key is restraints.
If they can be happily strapped in anything is a go!
