Happy Canada Day!

This country of ours is 141 years old. Happy Birthday to you! To us! We are blessed to live in a country that is peaceful and offers us many advantages.
This morning we attended the celebrations at Fort Calgary. The boys did so well among the crowd. R loved playing with the old fashioned toys in the interpretive centre as did W, but he really loved the huge bouncy slide. He climbed up the huge ladder, bounced on and slid down fast! I was nervous watching and thought he might get a little scared....but no! Down he went without a moment's hesitation! The petting zoo was a hit too, as was the popscicle afterwards. As the gentleman handed over the multi colored popscicle, W stated," Mom, we're having a very good day! He's happy!"
Yes, W, it is a good day. And tonight we're off to the Dawgs ballgame and then to take in the fireworks.
But now, I must go check on W as he's in the pantry (trouble!!) and it's nap time.
PS: The pantry excursion resulted in a new can of poultry seasoning being dumped on himself and the top of the garbage can. Ugh! "I'm sorry Mommy. Sorry! Sorry! Sorry!" And then "That tickles. That's a funny vacuum" as I vacuumed his feet, clothes and the garbage can.

  1. I love your Canada Day!
I woke up feeling very festive for Canada's birthday.
Then we went to hang out with family for the day, and no one really brought it up again. Too bad.
I decided next year will be more of a celebration like yours.
    Hurray Canada!
