Speech Therapy

Bup attends speech therapy every three weeks. He's now at about 35 words, of course they're not all CLEAR but he's trying and these words are consistently used in the same context so he's on his way. I love to hear the little words come out. They are too cute. Last week he attempted a two word sentence, "Bye Day". Wuhoo!

The two therapists in his treatment plan should overcome the fact that the largest tumor is in the speech center of his brain. Oh, did I mention there are two therapists?

The second therapist is not on payroll, but is much more diligent about getting Bup to speak or mimic him. Such words attempted on a daily basis are ratatouille, monster truck, popcorn, boo, construction, etc. Therapist #2 was most excited and ran up the stairs to tell me when "Bup said Pee and Poop!" However, there have been some setbacks and frustrating moments for Therapist #2, not to mention Bup!, because sometimes Bup just doesn't want to talk to his second therapist and T#2 get's frustrated & mad. "Talk Bup! Talk! Mommy....Bup won't talk!" So, poor Bup will have a varied vocabulary whether he likes it or not especially if his older brother, T#2, has any say in the matter.

  1. Sooooooo sweeeeeeet! And so true! Toby n' Bri often tell me things Trevy's attempted to say. Although he really has no words yet (other than "oooow" as in row row row your boat!) but he babbles all the time lately and they always think he says things! It's cute. Makes me smile!

  2. It's so cute to hear real words out of their tiny little selves. Even if you have to listen reeeeally hard to figure it out.
And older brothers are ALWAYS helpful, aren't they?!
