Why Is It?

Why is it that a 3yr old can outsmart their parents?

Why is it that a 3 yr old can move their parents to tears of frustration and anger?

Why is it that a 3 yr old can conjure up thoughts of corporal punishment while listing the positive reasons to start drinking?

Why is it that a 3 yr old can make an adult realize that they are not cut out for this and have no bloody clue what they are doing?

Why is it that there is no freakin' owner's manual?

It's only Wednesday. It's only noonish.
God give me the strength to handle this business of parenting.

Living one day at a time; Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; Taking, as He did, this sinful worldas it is, not as I would have it; Trusting that He will make all things rightif I surrender to His Will; That I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with HimForever in the next.Amen.

  1. I've often looked for that owner's manual too!

Thing Two can be very dramatic at times and every minor task turns into a huge production.

When he was 3 I signed him up for preschool - in the heat of one of those moments. Two days later, I cancelled his spot in preschool.

I knew that inevitably he would be going to school but I just wasn't ready to let him grow up.

He started preschool when he was 4, he had grown up and so had I. I felt super guilty though, I started the dayhome to be home with my kids and now I'm shipping them off.

I got over it and never regretted it for a second!

  2. uh oh...this doesn't sound good? *grin* Trust me sweetie...I've definately had those moments. Today even. 'Cept with a seven year old. My three year old is quite the mommy's girl...and as such gives daddy all the grief. *wink*
Gotta take the good with the bad I suppose? Lucky they're cute...that's what I'm always telling mine!

  3. How does something so small pack so much punch?? Not physically usually, but creating so much chaos.
Luckily they are cute when they're sleeping or we'd give them all back.
