"Gas! I got gas!" - Flo in Cars the movie

Bodily functions morph into bathroom humor, this I know. Yet, am not quite looking forward to it.
When W was younger and would "pass gas" he would exclaim, "Oh! Burp. I burped." Whether this was the traditional method of "burping" or as we came to know them, bottom burps or trouser burps.
Well, now someone taught him the descriptor of toot. He thinks this is hilarious! Toot! Tooted! Of course, it's used for both the top & bottom versions...if you follow me. However, W has gone one step further and focused on the scent of said toots. "I tooted! Can you smell it?" as he whips around to face his little bottom towards you. Uh..no thanks Mister and that's highly inappropriate.
Our little R has not escaped this 8th wonder of a little boy's world. R using his ever growing vocabulary now states, "Poops!" after his little bottom explodes. "Poops!"
So, here we go. Our little boys are continuing to learn what their bodies can do and this will provide moments of embarrassment and hilarity for us parents. Give us strength and the ability to laugh, ignore or teach during the moments of trouser burps, toots and poops!

  1. love the trouser burps descript! That's hilarious! Bathroom humor knows no genger btw. Bristel thinks EVERYTHING bathroomy is hysterical. In fact...sometimes I'll just say "poop" to make her bust-a-gut. Which is also highly inappropriate huh? *wink*

    Enjoy them more!

  2. aaaaahhh yes...you just have to laugh...or spend all your time cringing and hiding in the closet!
I don't think boys ever really outgrow it.

  3. Any bodily functions also brings on a fist of hysterical giggles in our house, so much so that it isn't even worth faking a disapproving look....wait until the day that they exclaim "Mom, when you pull on it, it grows!"....now keep a straight face through that!
